What is Dehydration - Signs, Symptoms, Causes, and Prevention

WHAT IS DEHYDRATION

In this condition body loss the excessive water fluid and electrolyte due to the excessive heat and sweating is called as dehydration.

CAUSES OF DEHYDRATION

There are some causes of dehydration are following :-



  • When people are suffering from diarrhea, sweating and  vomiting.
    SWEATING
  • Gastrointestinal problems (GI ) such as gastroenteritis which defined as the inflammation of gastroenteritis system.
  • Due to the cutaneous such as excessive sweating and burns due to heat.For example some people are working in hot places and may face the burning sensation and cause of dehydration.
  • Decreased of fluid intake is the affect on body functions and due to this cause the dryness and increasing thrust and vomiting.
  • Most of the people are suffering from renal diseases due to diabetic ketoacidosis because patient who are suffering from these problems they pass the more urine as compare to the healthy person it cause the fluid loss in the body.
  • Diarrhea  :- It is the most common cause of the dehydration. 
  • DIARRHEA
  • Due to diarrhea body excretes more water due to loose motions.
  • Some mental disorders are the cause of dehydration such as due to seizures people suffering from imbalance of electrolyte. They have no control on themselves and improperly body functioning.  


SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS



  •  Dryness of the body and mouth ( Increased thirst )
  •  Patient fell lethargic due to diarrhea
  •  Weakness in the body and muscles
  •  Dizziness, body ache, headache
  •  Changes in the color of urine. It gets dark and even low urine output
  •  Changes in eyes color its like sunken eyes
  •  Low blood pressure ( Hypo-tension ) 
  •  The heart-rate increased
  •  Fever, Malaise
  •  Irritability
  •  Difficulty in breathing pattern ( Rapid breathing ) 
  •  Insomnia ( Lack of sleep ) 
    INSOMNIA 
  •  Fainting  ( Lack of energy ) 
  •  Patient feel nausea and anxiety
  •  Loss of weight due to loss of excessive water and fluid



 TREATMENT OF DEHYDRATION


First of all you should control on vomiting and fluid loss to cure of dehydration.

DEHYDRATED YOUR BODY :- You should take adequate water for re-hydration. Drink electrolyte and carbohydrate contain juices.

Oral re-hydration solution (ORS) It is used for balance of fluids ans electrolytes.

Intake electrolyte :- Infused drink, take some salt, sugar and water and prepare this solution for drinking it or you may use ginger and lemon in the water for fluids balance in the body.

Watermelon :- Eat watermelon or getting juice of it because of it is a rich source of vitamin A, C and electrolyte.

Coconut water:- It is more useful for re-hydration because it containing phosphorus, calcium, sodium, potassium, magnesium and sugar also.
COCONUT WATER

Administration of intravenous fluids.

Fruits and vegetables:- Eat more and more fruits and green leafy vegetables which are containing 80% of water. Vegetables such as celery, spinach, cucumbers, ice-berg lettuce and black berries these all vegetables containing 96% of water.
FRUITS AND VEGETABLES

Soups and broths:- Soups and broths which are contains vegetables and proteins and even contain 92% of water.
SOUP AND BROTHS 

Yogurt :- It containing 88% of water and calcium, protein. It is very energetic and even it will helps to hydrates your body.
YOGURT


Medicines:- provide anti-bio tics medicine to the patients for treating the infection. Administration of anti-diarrhea drugs and anti-emetic for stop the vomiting, anti-pyratics to get relief from fever.
