⁃ A rare acute, subacute, or chronic deisease of connective tissue, of unknown cause , marked by edrma , rash, weakness, pain and inflammation of the muscles.
SYMPTOMS
⁃ Dermatomyositis symptoms include fever , malaise , and weakness ,esp. of the pelvic and shoulder girdle muscles, neck , and pharynx, skin and mucosal lesions and joint discomfort.
⁃ Performance of ordinary acitivities are affected. (getting up forming a chair, combing one’s head, raising ones head from pillow).
⁃ About one phonia and difficulty breathing also may be present, with death associated eith respiratory disease.
⁃ Heart failure, associated cancers or adverse effects of drug therapies .
