MASTODOTIS
⁃ An infection that affects the mastoid bone, located behind the ear.⁃ Mastoiditis is usually caused by a middle ear infection. This infection can result in damage to the mastoid bone and the formation of pus-filled cysts.
⁃ SYMPTOMS
⁃ Redness,swelling .
⁃ tenderness around the bone.
⁃ Fever, ear pain .
⁃ discharge are possible.
⁃ TREATMENT
⁃ Antibiotics can usually clear the infection.
⁃ In severe cases, surgery may be required.
⁃ Wearing earplugs while swimming or showering.
⁃ Using over-the-counter (OTC) pain relievers and fever reducers to reduce pain.
⁃ Placing a warm compress on the ear.
