  It is the viral infection of upper respiratory tract that affects the nose and throat.It can affects on the sinuses, larynx.It's usually harmless, although it might not feel that way.

CAUSES OF COMMON COLD

  • It can caused by many types of viruses such as rhinoviruses.
  • A cold infected the body through eyes,mouth and nose.
  • This virus can spread from person to person by the droplet of air particles. For example if any infected person cough or sneeze in front of you then it can be transferred and infected to your body by the nose and mouth.  
  • By touching ( skin to skin infection) and sharing things. If you come under and touch contaminated cloths and surfaces such as blankets or using infected person's towel.
  • Through allergy. Many people are suffering from many types of allergies such as from animals, dust particles, food and water allergies.

 SIGN AND SYMPTOMS OF COMMON COLD

 > Runny nose 

 > Watery nasal secretions 


 > Sneezing 

 > Head ache 

 > Malaise 

 > Fever

 > Fatigue 

 > Nose enable to smell 

 > Secretions of water from eyes

 > Cough and chest discomfort

 > Difficulty in breathing due to congestion

  There are five main prevention of common cold which are mention below :-

1. AVOID TOUCHING YOUR FACE

DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE

If you will touch your eyes, nose or mouth then you will get sick because this virus enter into your body from your mouth, nose or eyes so you should avoid this.Especially whenever you meet a person who is suffering with this problem then you should not touch you face without washing your hands.

2. USE TISSUE PAPERS AND EVEN THROUGH IT AFTER USE

USE TISSUE PAPERS

Firstly you should use tissue papers if you have cold and through all that tissue away after using which you will use to clean your nose.Even a small sneeze into one tissue will harbor the virus for hours and even if you will keep it on the table or other furniture which you use daily it will contaminate all that thing.so you should always through the tissues after use.

3. WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN WITH SOAP AND WATER

WASH YOUR HANDS

Always wash your hands with soap or water for at least 20 second which will help to protect you from virus.If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitize.Even you should tell these thing to the young children.If you will wash your hands it will helps to prevent the spread of infection and after washing hands clean and dry hands with clean towel.Especially wash your hands after sneezing or coughing before taking your food.

4. ALWAYS STAY AWAY FROM SICK PEOPLE

Do not make a close contact with sick people who have these symptoms such as sneezing, coughing or fever.Do not hand shake with sick people but if you do this by mistake then immediately you will have to wash your hands with soap.because of sick people the virus can spread and other people who are healthy then they will get infected.

5. AVOID SMOKING

This is the major point that you will have to avoid smoking because it has bad affects on our lungs and throat and even it can worse the cold symptoms such as cough and sore throat.By smoking you will spreading infection which will be harmful to the healthy people.
