MALE REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEM
⁃ The male reproductive system consists of a number of sex organs that play a role in the process of human reproduction.⁃ These organs are located on the outside of the body and within the pelvis.
⁃ PARTS
⁃ The penis and the urethra are part of the urinary and reproductive system.
⁃ The scrotum, testes (testicles), vas deferens, seminal vesicles, and prostate comprise the rest of the reproductive system.
⁃ PURPOSE
• To produce, maintain, and transport sperm (the male reproductive cells) and protective fluid (semen)
• To discharge sperm within the female reproductive tract during sex.
• To produce and secrete male sex hormones responsible for maintaining the male reproductive system.
