  How can we prevent dehydration

   It is defined as the loss of excessive water from body.Because of vomiting and diarrhea may lead to dehydration. There are a number of other causes of dehydration including heat exposure, prolonged vigorous exercise and kidney disease. Dehydration occurs when the amount of water leaving the body is greater than the amount being taken in.

 CAUSES OF DEHYDRATION :- 


                                                                                            DIABETES 

  Most of the people have diabetes elevated blood sugar levels cause sugar to spill into the urine which can cause significant dehydration.People with diabetes have an increased risk of dehydration.

                                                                  INABILITY TO DRINK FLUIDS 


 Lack of water in the body is another potential cause of dehydration.This the main reason behind this because water Dehydration happens when a people do not take in enough water or loses too much fluid because the cells of our body depends on water and if you will not drink water or other fluid then your body will not work properly.

                                                                                       SWEATING


Our body lose water when we sweat too much. If you are doing exercise or other hard activity and do not drinking enough water or other fluid then you can become dehydrated.Our The lose significant amounts of water when it tries to cool itself by sweating.Hot and humid weather and vigorous physical activity can further increase fluid loss from sweating.

                                                                                       DIARRHEA  


                           How to prevent dehydration from diarrhea

 This is the most common cause of dehydration and related deaths.Persistent diarrhea is both uncomfortable and dangerous, as a significant amount of water can be lost with each bowel movement.Most of the people get diarrhea a few times a year. It normally lasts 2 to 3 days.Even there are four million children die every year because of dehydration from diarrhea.

                                                                                       VOMITING


                                 How to prevent dehydration from vomiting

  Vomiting leads to a loss of fluids and makes it difficult to replace water by drinking it.When the people have vomiting along with diarrhea,then they lose even more fluids and minerals from their body.When the people have vomiting due to that their stomach get empty of and because of that the stomach has to overcome the pressures that are normally in place to keep food and secretions within the stomach.If any person have constant vomiting that's will be very serious cause of fluid loss in the body which will be very difficult for a person to replace water if they are unable to tolerate liquids.

  THERE ARE SOME MORE CAUSES OF DEHYDRATION



  •    It cause due to the excessive sweating.
  •    Peeing a lot many people are suffering from diabetes mellitus and because of this passing of excessive urine.
  •    Administration of water pills like diuretics.It can make more pee often.
  •    Due to fever, diarrhea, vomiting.
  •    Due to stomach infection.
  •    Abdominal pain.
  •    Because of ingestion of infected food.
  •    People who work in hot weather places they are more prone to dehydration.  

   SIGNS ANS SYMPTOMS :-


  Dehydration is two types mild and moderate. The symptoms of mild dehydration is following bellow :


  •   Extreme trust, dark yellow urine.
  •    Dry cool skin, Headache.
  •   Dry or sticky mouth.
  •   Muscle cramps.



 SYMPTOMS OF MODERATE DEHYDRATION :-



  •    Very dry skin 
  •    Feeling dizziness
  •    Rapid heartbeat
  •    Yellow eyes
  •    Pale skin color
  •    Insomnia ( lack of sleep, sleep disturbance )
  •    Lethargic, malaise and fatigue
  •    Dry mouth and tongue
  •    Lack of energy
  •    Loss of appetite ( Anorexianervosa )


  SYMPTOMS OF DEHYDRATION IN CHILDREN

 

  •   Crying without tears
  •   Irritable
  •   Dry tongue and mouth
  •   Low energy levels, seeming very weak or limp
  •   Cold and dry skin
  •   Sunken eyes
  •   Lethargy


  PREVENTION OF DEHYDRATION  :-


   You should drink plenty of water for maintain fluids and  electrolyte balance in your body.


  •   Eat leafy green vegetables which contain more water and proteins.
  •   Eat fruits such as Watermelon, Strawberries and Cauliflower.
  •   Do strenuous exercise for hydrating your body.
  •   you have to be aware about hot and cold weather. In hot weather you are on higher risk of dehydration that's why
  •   You have to get hydrated and drink plenty of water because of  this you will loss water through excessive sweating.
  •   You need to be extra careful of your children in weather changing because it can make more infection for them.



 TREATMENT OF DEHYDRATION :- 

The best way to treat dehydration is to prevent it from occurring.

 

  •   The treatment of dehydration is fluid replacement.People who are dehydrated should avoid drinks containing caffeine such as coffee, tea, and sodas.
  •   First of all we should administer the intravenous fluid to the patient for balance of fluid and electrolytes in the body for re hydration.   
  •  Provide re hydration solution to the patient which we can make with one by two tea spoon salt, six tea spoon sugar with one litter water mixed it can provide to the patient.
  •  Provide oral re hydration solution ( ORS ).
  •  Administer medication to the patient such as Dexetrolvet.
